Formatting Your Manuscript
The layout of your manuscript is the method by which the words in your article are displayed to the reader. Therefore, your manuscript submission needs to adhere to strict formatting guidelines, which will cut down on the time we spend reading the hundreds of submissions we get every week by a significant margin. In addition to wasting a lot of time, a manuscript that doesn't follow our guidelines gives the impression that the writer is a novice, lacks experience, or is unconcerned about professionalism.
Manuscript Cover Page Layout
Always start with a cover page when submitting your
manuscript. Margin requirements and font size should be
the same as the main text.
-
Place your name and contact information at the top left of the cover page, using the same typeface (Times New Roman) and point size (12 pt) as the rest of the document.
-
Word count should be rounded up to the nearest hundred and placed in the upper right-hand corner of your cover page.
-
Just below the title type the word "by" followed by your full name.
-
Place the title about a third of the way down the cover page, and make sure it is centered.
-
Place copyright information (if any) in the center of the page's footer.
