Our guide, How to Write a Good Query Letter, offers friendly, expert advice on drafting an engaging query letter to potential publishers. A well-written query is essential to capture a publisher’s attention, showcase your book’s potential, and improve your chances of landing a publishing deal. So let's get started!

What is a query letter and why is it necessary?

When you send us your query letter, you’re giving a us a brief introduction to your book. This is necessary because it gives us a quick overview of your book, letting us know what it's about. It also helps us to decide if we're interested in seeing more.

And of course, this process also saves both of us a lot of time.

How should you

format your query letter?

Your query letter needs to be no more than one page in length. You should begin with a brief introduction that includes the title, genre, and word count of the book. Your main body should offer a compelling summary of the book's plot or central theme, highlighting its unique elements. Following this, include a short author bio that emphasizes any relevant qualifications, writing experience, or  your personal connection to the subject matter.
